Villa Amatista, Lanzarote.10-17th November 2018
Villa Amatista – 10-17th November 2018. Our third time here at this artistically inspiring, simple and tranquil haven, nestled in the unspoilt countryside and vineyards of La Geria Natural Park, Lanzarote. So if you are looking for a very reasonable, “normally” sunny, winter retreat, in a quiet, rural centre, where every contrasting view you see below is within a 10-40 minute drive away….then read on below.
The island itself offers extraordinary beauty and spectacular contrasts. So much so, it became part of the world heritage of protected landscapes and was declared a Biosphere in 1993 by UNESCO.
Quiet, Intimate coves or vast, dramatic beaches. With golden or dark, lava stained sands and often panoramic cliff top walks above….
Whether you are a beginner or experienced; this Retreat, limited to a smaller group of 12 people maximum, is offered to meet you where you are.
Lanzarote is the oldest and most easterly island of this Spanish archipelago; lying just 86 miles from the African coast – therefore enjoying average sunny, November daytime temperatures of 22 degrees, 25 in the sun!
Villa Amatista has a wide variety of individually crafted rooms and casitas, as above, nestled within it’s lush semi -tropical gardens.
The breathtaking, other-worldly landscape of the Volcanic National Park below, begins just 10 mins drive away. Throughout the day, the craters and mountains change their colours according to the varying positions of the sun: sometimes they appear in strong ochres, crimsons and reds, sometimes soft greens and cream.
Being away and resting from your normal routine, practicing yogic movement, stillness & contemplation and being more outdoors in nature, may help to cultivate a fresh perspective and awareness. You may prefer to take the week more as a retreat, with more silence and reflection during the free time. Or simply to just relax, restore and be on holiday!
Most importantly you begin from where you are….
“Thank you for another fantastic retreat – as lovely as Molino but in different ways.
“Thank you for a wonderful week of yoga. So enjoyed your teaching, Amatista and Lanzarote. Feeling restored and calm:))
Will keep working on those handstands! Hope to see you next year.
Love to you and family
“Thanks so much for a terrific week! The retreat was lovely, the location was perfect and I really can’t wait to go back to Lanzarote. I know that my family would love the island. I would definitely go back!!
I really hope to get to another one of your retreats in the near future. Problem is, everybody wants the same thing. 😉
I have quite a few of my Swedish yoga buddies who I know would love Molino if you plan on getting back there someday.
A lovely, plant filled entrance into Casa Amatista to greet you.
The Expansive Famara Beach, loved by kite surfers. Just 15 min drive away.
Wonderful for walking, to blow away the cobwebs!
Very quiet, dramatic bays, such as Quemada, with a few waterfront cafes and restaurants.
The rolling countryside behind Casa Amatista in the island centre, with vineyards and hilly volcanoes to walk up.
8.00am Breathing, sitting, mindfulness/ Yoga practice
Freetime ( resting, relaxing, walking, reading, swimming, exploring etc….or nothing!) Snacking if needed.
5.00pm Yoga session, finishing with longer relaxation
8.30pm Quiet contemplative practice. Everything is optional!
A very nicely appointed studio, with views out across to the mountains. The evening classes finishing at dusk.
The delicious meals are prepared by our Italian chef, Francesca. Fresh eggs come from Casa Amatista’s own chickens……
……and it’s own vegetable gardens, where a lot of the delicious meals come from. But also providing nice, green restful places to sit and enjoy.
Solar heated, saline pool for gentle bathing and relaxation.
Many different individually designed bedrooms. Most designed as little casitas with their own bathrooms and entrances.
All very charming, colourful – yet simply decorated.
Impressive rocky cliffs with clear turquoise water below.
The island is dotted with tiny, rural, white villages, such as the lovely Haría in the North above.
The landscape often surprises the first-time visitor by its diversity and breathtaking beauty – mountains and rugged fields of recent lava (270 years ago), soft rolling hills covered with flowers in spring, and wide plains make up the 500 square mile island. With 300 volcanoes, many areas of the island seem to be bizarre and otherworldly.
Look out places like this, with stunning circular cafe’s. Looking out to Graciosa. A stunningly beautiful tiny island you could visit by ferry, or take a catamaran tour around it. With beautiful beaches, such as to the left, and surely one of the few places without asphalt in Europe!
10-17th November 2018 – 7 day retreat. Only 12 places max.

Then choose your accommodation preference to make second payment nearer the retreat time.
